my strength

"The family is the corner stone of our society. More than any other force it shapes the attitude, the hopes, the ambitions, and the values of the child. And when the family collapses it is the children that are usually damaged. When it happens on a massive scale the community itself is crippled. So, unless we work to strengthen the family, to create conditions under which most parents will stay together, all the rest — schools, playgrounds, and public assistance, and private concern — will never be enough."-Lyndon Baines Johnson

when boredom strikes

since I have nothing to do this day and while doing some internet surfing one article struck my mind.. an article made by an unknown author. It is an inspiring story from a beggar who lived near the king's palace til one day he saw a proclamation outside the palace gate stated that the king will be giving a great dinner and anyone dressed in royal garments was invited but knowing he is beggar upon reading the proclamation he sighed and said to himself that only kings and their families are surely can attend the said party.  Slowly an idea crept into his mind and he bravely approach the guard asking if it could be possible to speak with  the king and the king gladly face the beggar. upon seeing the king the beggar didn't hesitate to tell the king that he really wants to attend the said dinner but the problem is that he doesn't even have a single royal suit so he asked the king if he could have at least one old garment in order for him to attend the banquet. the beggar shook so hard that he couldn't see the faint smile of the king agreed upon beggars wish and called his son which is the prince and said "take this man to your room and array him some of your clothes."  the prince gladly follow the king  and upon giving the royal garment to the beggar he said to him " you are now eligible to attend the king's banquet tomorrow night," " but even more important, you will never need any other clothes. These garments will last forever."
the beggar dropped his knees that he almost cried thanking the prince but while walking on his way home he looked back at his pile of old clothes. He hesitated what the prince told me instead think twice what if the  prince was wrong so he quickly gather all the old clothes he had. on the day of banquet it was very great far from what he expect but he could not enjoy himself because he made a small bundle of his old clothes and it kept falling into his lap, the food was passed quickly and the beggar almost missed some of the great delicacies. and time proved that the prince was right. the clothes lasted forever but still the poor beggar grew fonder to fonder of his old clothes. As time passed people seemed to forget the royal robes he was wearing. what they saw is just a little of filthy rags that he clung to wherever he went. Suddenly the beggar remembered the prince's words and he realized that his bundle of rags cost him a lifetime of true royalty. This inspirational story simply states that we have been invited into a royal family - the family of God. To feast at God's dinner table, all we have to do is shed our old rags and put the new "clothes" of faith which is provided by God's son, Jesus Christ. We cannot hold onto our old rags. When we put our faith in Jesus, we must let go of the sin in our life, and our old ways of living. :)

A Lesson in Life

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, if they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. If someone hurts you, betrays you , or breaks you heart, forgive them. For they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to who you open your heart to.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.
Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.
Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either.
You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

According to Sir Albert Einstein, There are only two ways to live our life. One is as though nothing is a miracle and the other is a though everything is a miracle...But how could we really enjoy our life to the fullest without regretting from what you did?! Other philosophers say's that in order for you to be happy you should follow your heart not your mind but how can we assure to our self that our heart is always right? Our Life's journey is full of surprises.. Lots of ups and down, nothing's really perfect! It's a great big canvass..Since I was young I loved watching fairy tale movies and hoping that someday my prince charming would come on my way.. at the age of 16 I've met my first man.. I thought he is  the prince charming I've been hoping for since I was young but then I was mistaken. another person drawn in my life which I admits really contributed a lot in my life and I told my self that this is it! But then again I was mistaken he is not the perfect man I've been hoping for..they say Never take life seriously. and yes after several relationships I think I never take my life seriously till one day on a distant place I met this guy.. We're not new to each other actually. I'm not quite sure if everything's happened co incidence only or what they say a twist of fate? but whatever it is up to now I'm so thankful that I met this guy.. I won't say that he his the one but he is almost perfect... It is a feeling that when he sits beside me doing nothing at all but then I feel perfectly happy!

Cebu Escapade

it's our 3rd day of having fun fun fun... Cebu escapade, the city
where our love begins?? LOL... celebrating our 3rd anniversary together.
so much memories in this place, 3 years ago close to this date (07-11-2010)
we are just collegues in college, slight friends and offismates...

at Taoist Temple which is located in Beverly Hills subdivision, Cebu City.
It is the center of worship for Taoism. It was built by cebu's substantial Chinese community. With an elevation of 300 meters above sea level :)
(Leff) Taoist Temple Cebu City (Right) Lapu-Lapu shrine Mactan Island, Cebu. There is a spot in Lapu-Lapu City in Mactan island that's revered by islanders more than any other place. A marker says it was on that site that a man who had sought dominion over the island in the name of the Spanish king had died in the hands of the brave warrior chieftain Lapu-Lapu 485 years ago

(Left) Statue of Lapu-Lapu in the background, erected in honor of Datu lapu-Lapu, a muslim king who defeated Spanish soldiers & killed Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in the battle of Mactan in 1521.  (Right) at Magellan's Cross, a christian cross planted by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in cebu city on 1521.. Unfortunately, the one who got our picture on this site didn't capture the whole cross. LOL... but it was a cross on background :)
